April 1, the iconic Jonas Brother trio decided once again that their music career would come to an end. While wrapping up their North America tour, the brothers headed into their world tour, visiting countries all around Australia, Europe and Latin America, falling in love with the scenery. Joe Jonas—lead vocals—recently separated from his wife Sophie Turner and devastatingly his two daughters, which ultimately led to the trio’s break.
Due to the end of the Jonas and Turner marriage, September 6, 2023, the battle for custody of their two daughters became an issue. Shortly after the divorce, Jonas and Turner settled on a custody schedule in which both parents received a couple of weeks on end with both daughters, traveling between London and the US. After the custody schedule became fully instilled, Joe felt unsteady because of how far he lived from his daughters and he felt cut off from their childhood.
“I feel like I need to spend my time focused on my daughters, especially after the separation from their mother since they are my number one priority. I need to make sure I can be the best dad possible, and it’s hard to be that for them when I’m so far away. I will miss writing music and performing with my brothers, but I think it is for the best,” Joe Jonas said.
Joe took advantage of the visit to London while on the Jonas Brothers tour and decided he would move there immediately after their final Ireland tour date, breaking up the band. While this groundbreaking information became spread throughout their fans, it did not come about as unexpected. In 2013, the brothers underwent their first breakup to focus on building their own portfolios and personal lives, but they came back together in 2019.
“Even though the trio broke up, I still have hope for them. Since they have already gone through a breakup once, who says they can’t get back together again? And while I will miss the brothers during the time being, I truly hope that Joe can find peace within his decision of leaving the band for the good of his daughters,” sophomore Lily Johnson said.
Though the break-up acts as an outlet for Joe to spend more time with his daughters, this news not only breaks up the band, but it breaks the hearts of JoBro fans. While it may look unknown what the future holds for Kevin and Nick, this time apart could help build stronger relationships within their personal lives and even spur new individual projects.
April Fools, you fool!
