Android or iPhone: It’s time to figure out whether the iPhone is truly better than Android, or is this just a silly opinion of people who rank a “popular” phone over the less popular and affordable option? In interviews with two North Cobb students, Ella Anderson and Zoë Zavala, this podcast examines their views and notions on this topic.

When a teacher tells a student to believe in their potential, that simple encouragement can change their entire outlook and motivate them to push through challenges. Several students at NC may have experienced a teacher’s words inspiring them and their academic studies. The Chant wanted to know, so our Media Team members set out a jar and a poster with a prompt stating, “What is something a teacher said that moved you?”. If the person had an answer they would put their answer in the jar allowing our staff members to read it later. “Divergent” by Veronica Roth received a film adaptation in 2014, three years after the book was published. The debate over the differences between the novel and the film may never settle due to the mixed opinions of what the movie adaptation needed to include but chose not to. In this episode of “Book Buddies,” the topic includes showcasing a handful of popular disagreements among fans concerning the “Divergent” film and movie, and addresses both sides.

Small businesses serve as vital community pillars, drawing towns together and creating niche, warm atmospheres that cannot be replicated in corporate environments. The second episode of “Taste of Home” explores the uniqueness of small businesses and their importance to local climates, featuring Honeysuckle Biscuits and Bakery. From donating to in-town facilities to creating a family-friendly environment, the importance of locally-owned trades presents itself through interviews with both the owner and a customer of Honeysuckle, as well as statistics from an NC poll.

Debates surrounding the topic cause pizza lovers to argue intensely over the controversial add-on. Regardless of its divisiveness, pineapple on pizza proves extremely popular, as thousands of pizza places serve it as a topping option.

While they may not still hope for a future as a fireman or astronaut — careers popular with young children — students' plans remain subject to change, a fate which high-achieving teens may feel threatened by. As students continue to consider, plan or even attend colleges, understanding that youth remains a time for exploration rather than box-checking can allow them to build a future which contents them.

Following former President and current President-elect Donald Trump’s win against the Democratic party’s candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, a group of left-leaning women have considered joining forces against the patriarchy with the 4B movement. The feminist movement, which originated in Korea, calls for women to avoid traditional gender roles with four pillars: bihon, bichulsan, biyeonae and bisekseu. Though the movement began before the 2020 pandemic, it has remained relatively unknown until its entry into Western media.

Today, the figure lives on in NC hallways, supporting student activities such as wrestling and robotics.

Pumpkins can meet specific entertainment needs and involve different cultural practices. These applications do not always include eating or decoration, but rather a variety of applications, each with its unique purpose.

For NC wrestlers, practice remains the foundation of success that leads teams to higher levels of competition. The coaches of the NC wrestling team watch closely to tend to the students’ skills, helping the athletes improve. The athletes learn to step on the mat and treat anyone across from them as a potential opponent to prepare for the intense tournaments. When athletes hone their skills during their practice and take all the advice coaches direct, they can become champions.

Taylor Morrow is a sophomore at NC. She joined The Chant because she is trying to branch out of her comfort zone and meet new people. She believes joining this class will have a lasting impact on her and her future. Morrow's writing experience is pretty short, but she usually writes fantasies and fictional stories. These stories usually have characters who have non-human-like powers and abilities. Typically, she writes about a day in the life of these characters. Morrow has four siblings, and the second oldest is a junior at NC. Along with watching some of her favorite TV shows, thrifting is another activity she enjoys.
