The classic American meal consists of a burger, fries, and a milkshake. When Americans order this, we expect that special backyard summer barbeque flavor and experience. Too often, fast-food restaurants let us down and hand us some lame slab of meat on bread with cold fries and melted ice cream.

Fear no longer, fellow Americans. Cook-Out arrived in Kennesaw to take us from the drive-thru to the neighborhood grill for a true hamburger, crispy fries, and a “fancy milkshake.”

Established in 1989, Cook-Out only exists in the Eastern areas of the United States, making the restaurant that much more special. Thankfully, this means Cook-Outs can be found around Georgia in cities like Atlanta, Athens, and now Kennesaw.

Cook-Out also offers other quintessential American meals like chicken sandwiches (both grilled and fried), chicken tenders, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, corn dogs, and more. These options include usual sides like fries, hushpuppies, and/or onion rings. As for the drinks, Cook-Out serves tea and fountain drinks, including one rare soda called Cheerwine. Cheerwine tastes similar to Dr.Pepper or Mr.Pibb, but carries an accentuated cherry flavor.

Along with their various meal choices, Cook-Out also serves an ample selection of flavors for milkshakes. They offer the usual vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and candy shakes, but also serve not-so-classic flavors like peanut butter banana, blueberry cheesecake, cherry cobbler, and even Hi-C Punch.

How can a place this spectacular exist, right? The magnificence does not end at mere taste alone. Their cheap, customer-friendly prices make Cook-Out that much more majestic.

After stopping by for dinner, I ordered a small burger with cheese, ketchup, and lettuce; a regular burger with cheese, ketchup, and lettuce; an order of regular sized fries; a Cheerwine float; and a large drink all for $10.12.

Relax. I did not eat all this by myself. However, I easily could have and desperately wanted to. Cook-Out will make customers forget their human-sized stomachs and tempt them to eat the whole building.

With its low prices, one-of-a-kind flavor, and magical milkshake menu, Cook-Out might blow the normal big-name fast-food chains out of the water (or grease). For those passionate about that good ol’ American meal, Cook-Out could even become a new go-to spot. Drop everything and sprint to the nearest Cook-Out.
