Keegan’s Irish Pub opened its doors in downtown Acworth in the summer of 2025, marking a fresh and inviting addition to the city’s historic theme of the Main Street corridor. The ribbon-cutting ceremony drew Mayor Tommy Allegood and city officials, signaling municipal support for what residents hoped would become a neighborhood gathering spot. The pub joins sibling locations in Kennesaw and Woodstock as part of the growing Keegan’s Public House brand. The opening represents a continuing trend of Acworth’s renovative efforts, introducing dining and entertainment options to the city’s downtown.

“I have not been to the restaurant too many times, but when I have gone, it’s a comfortable atmosphere. The place, compared to other spots in downtown Acworth, gives off a different vibe. I believe it’s due to the theme being based on a different country’s culture,” junior Chloe Bettis said.
Inside Keegan’s, the design leans into cozy, old-world Irish pub aesthetics, with exposed wood beams, warm lighting and rustic accents that aim to elevate the experience of a traditional public house. The menu balances Irish classics and familiar pub fare; for instance, their award-winning Irish spring rolls and meatloaf dishes attract Acworth residents. The pub also offers outdoor patio seating that complements the interior, offering a relaxed alternative with the right weather and serving as a lively gathering space on weekend evenings.
“We are locally owned and operated, which is different from what you would usually find in Kennesaw. In our Irish Pub, we aim to give an authentic feel from the food we make from scratch to doing most of our stuff in-house. Our staff is what makes this place what it is; you can see the same faces here that you’ve seen for the past four to five years,” Keegan’s owner operator Pete McCaffrey said.
Since opening, Keegan’s Irish Pub continues to contribute to the growing activity along Acworth’s Main Street. The restaurant attracts a steady mix of residents and visitors, adding to the foot traffic that benefits nearby local businesses. Its evening hours and regular live entertainment help extend downtown’s vibrancy past the daytime, supporting the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance its historic district. Local merchants note an increase in customers during nights when Keegan’s hosts events, suggesting a positive economic effect. The pub’s consistent crowds also highlight the growing demand for social and dining spaces in the area, reinforcing Acworth’s reputation as a welcoming and walkable downtown. By drawing people together through food, music and atmosphere, Keegan’s plays a subtle but important role in the continued evolution of the city’s core.
Aside from just a place to eat and drink, Keegan’s aims to serve as a social anchor in Acworth. The pub emphasizes live music, events and gatherings that foster a sense of community. The pub employees value the public house identity with a venue where locals can meet, share stories, catch music and unwind. The pub hosts weekly trivia nights and themed celebrations for holidays like St. Patrick’s Day. This facility also holds live local bands to keep the atmosphere festive and engaging. The franchise continues to create a welcoming space for connecting and strengthening the sense of community that builds the downtown Acworth.
