November 29, 2025, magnet senior and Division 1 (D1) commit Jasmine Robinson announced her official decision to attend the University of Georgia (UGA) and serve as a runner on the school’s track and field team. Before this formal commitment, Robinson publicized her top seven universities list on Instagram August 24 and stated that she planned to attend official visits and make her final decision in late November. After her announcement event, the young track star signed at NC December 3, 2025, surrounded by her friends, family, coaches and supportive NC staff members.
“I had no idea where she was going to end up, to be honest. My best guess was Vanderbilt since we would talk about being roommates there and stuff. But honestly, I can see why she chose Georgia; it’s stacked with excellent track athletes. I know she will do well wherever she goes, and I am excited to see her future in track,” senior Jaylah Hepburn said.
Robinson’s top seven schools included D1 track and field programs that offered the athlete a full-ride scholarship and an open spot on their team. The universities — The University of Florida (UF), UGA, Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee (UTK), University of South Carolina (USC), University of Arkansas (UA) and the University of Kentucky (UK) — recognized the athlete’s impressive achievements in the track world and strong Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.5. Robinson earned the opportunity to tour each of these colleges with other athletes who hold offers, which helped her to narrow down her options and ultimately figure out “where is home?”
After official visits, Robinson struggled to decide which team captured her heart. The athlete felt conflicted between two schools — UGA and Vanderbilt — on where to settle for the next four years. Both universities serve as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), which stands as the highest competitive track conference in the U.S., and contains unique aspects that appealed to Robinson. UGA, only two hours from Acworth, Georgia, develops student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically through the school’s rigorous workload and strong-spirited sports culture. The UGA track program holds recognition for producing world-class jumpers with the elite training and conditioning tactics the school utilizes, including high-tech biomechanics analysis, force plates and sprint timing systems, personalized strength programs and recovery tools. These additions to UGA’s program ultimately captured Robinson’s attention.
“UGA has a lot of great athletes, and I know a lot of people there, so it would be nice to have a community. The coaches have helped athletes drop their time, so I knew they would handle me well there, and the head coach, being a female coach, especially interested me. The girls’ team won the national championship last year at the SEC and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), which really encourages me to help them do the same thing next year. They also have a really great facility which can help me work to my best potential,” Robinson said.
Robinson posted November 9, 2025, inviting supporters to join in-person or through livestream to her official commitment party November 29, 2025. The day of the party, over 300 users awaited the trackstar’s announcement on an Instagram livestream, speculating where Robinson’s legacy would continue, while approximately 100 friends and family members met in person at a venue for the event. Following refreshments and speeches from Robinson’s parents, brother, coaches and other people who impacted her life, the community quieted down as a video reel began to play.
The video began with the athlete running in middle school and transitioned through different compilations of her running in state meets. Viewers both online and in person reminisced while watching, but held suspense while awaiting the runners’ decision. When her official commitment photo flickered on the screen after the video, numerous individuals felt shocked seeing red and black on the screen, while others cheered, guessing correctly all along. As Robinson takes this next step to run at the collegiate level, she hopes to maintain her community’s support and continue to follow her passion for track as a Bulldog.
The Chant wishes Robinson a memorable final season at NC and success during her time at UGA. Go Dawgs!
