Seniors Lauren D’Olympio and Manoah Johnson won the Best Dressed category, “My favorite style is classy but simple, but my favorite part of my style is being able to change it up from a ton of different ones!” said D’olympio.

As senior year comes to an end, NC’s senior class gathered one last time before graduation to honor senior superlatives and the memories of their final year at the Senior Banquet at Northstar Church on Wednesday, April 27.

The banquet kicked off with socialization among students and teachers, music and waiting in line for the food catered from Carrabba’s Italian Grill.

Preceding the announcement of the 2016 Teacher Dedication, seniors watched a slideshow filled with pictures of their peers that took place throughout the year. While enjoying the slideshow, senior Austin Birchell commented, “I’m really going to miss my close friends the most. I know that I’ll try to keep in touch and most are going to the same college but there’s nothing like the time I’ve spent with them in and out of class. You can never get those things back.”

This year’s Teacher Dedication went to AP Psychology Teacher, William Hargis. “It was a very special moment in my teaching career, it validates all the things I do for my students all the time to see that they appreciate and like the fact that I try to take advantage of each person’s special individual needs in the classroom,” Hargis said.

The class of 2016 chose AP Psychology teacher William Hargis for the Teacher Dedication Award, “Coach Hargis is a great teacher, he really cares about his students and is always there for us, he deserved that award,” senior Shayaan Sajid said.

As the night came to an end, seniors left the banquet to receive their yearbooks and go outside to take pictures with each other. This was the last time the class of 2016 would have a memorable night together before the day of graduation. “It was a fun time and it was nice to be able to spend one last time with everyone before we graduate,” said senior class President, Jake Byrd.
