Schools continuously fill their vending machine with a series of unhealthy snacks that unintentionally affect students for the worse. While a sweet or salty snack once every blue moon does not hold long-term effects, the poor dietary choices that the school promotes result in obesity; these unacceptable eating habits can cause inadequate performances in both the school and work environment.

Nationally recognized as a holiday, MLK day serves to honor and respect Martin Luther King as a leader and overall person. While the world receives the day off, they should use it as a day to involve themselves in their community and make it a better place. These acts of service not only aid the community, but they certainly commemorate King and his impact on the world that everyone knows and loves.

However, to several, the holiday means something a bit more negative: namely, underground satanic purposes. Due to the history of Halloween and the superstitions that come with it, numerous people have given it the title of the Devil’s Holiday.

The NC track team competed three days ago at the Kennesaw Mountain meet. Events took a turn when the boys 4x100 Relay Team A used roller skates to cheat during their race. The record-breaking splits they produced did not happen in faithful spirits. “The boys will face punishment for their actions. I am so disappointed in their behavior and willingness to cheat. They embarrassed not only themselves but NC as a whole,” head coach Chad Talley said.
