People abstain from attending college due to the cost, but people do not know that a majority of jobs now require a bachelors degree. By avoiding college, they can encounter stress due to not knowing what to do in life; attending college helps students find their passion and learn more about what they want to do in life. It also helps build skills in different fields and teaches students life skills.

Today, seniors at NC showed their fellow classmates what they hope to become in the future. Students dressed up as different career choices, including teachers, nurses, or even explorers and farmers. Senior Julia Snyder plans on attending Oglethorpe University in the fall to pursue a teaching degree. “I really love kids, and Oglethorpe recently added a teaching program to their school,” Snyder said.

The NC counseling department is offering ASVAB signup through October 16. The ASVAB, originally designed for military recruits, measures skills and helps test takers decide on potential careers and college majors after high school. Those who sign up will take the test October 22, of this year.
