The Chant

While students sit outside during their lunch period, they roll up their sleeves in attempt to keep themselves cool in the sun. The temperature reached an astonishing 88 degrees outside and the week's forecast says nothing but rain will come after this past sunny weekend.

Mrs.Hopper's ASL students sign while munching on delicious cookies, chips, and crackers. However, this lunch differs from the rest: the students cannot speak during the period. Instead, they could only rely on their new sign language abilities. These abilities allow the students to communicate and connect with those impacted by hearing loss.

Representatives from the U.S. Army Reserve stopped by during third period to ask students about the next stage in their lives and to consider the reserve. Sergeant Davina M. Jones said, “Most people don’t know that joining the reserves can help you pay for college. You get to go to the college of your choice nearly for free, all it requires is a few weeks of basic training.” Visit them in the cafeteria during lunch.

Students enjoy their lunch outdoors in the 70 degree weather. Georgia's odd weather patterns both fascinate and frustrate the community. “The weather has been really weird lately, almost like it's going through puberty” sophomore Lucas Magalhaes jokingly  said.

Students enjoy a sunny, 60 degree day sitting outside for lunch in the middle of winter. With Georgia’s unpredictable weather, 70 degree weather comes days after snow storms and NC students love it.

Continuing the celebration for teacher appreciation week, Northstar Church came to NC today and served food to the teachers during lunch. Teachers were given the option of burgers, hot dogs, chips, cake, and a variety of drinks.
