Joining together with numerous clubs across campus, Rally Club encourages students to write holiday cards for Rally Foundation kids. The club used this opportunity to promote its goal of funding childhood cancer research and bring together NC students from various organizations to spread holiday cheer. Students decorate their cards based on various winter holidays for specialization.

During the stressful finals season, NC students find relief in celebrating the approaching holidays. Throughout NC, a series of decorating and holiday-themed events take place to bring the holiday spirit into the everyday school hallways. In preparation for the end of the semester, students recognize the season of giving and create a fun-filled end of the year.

The‌ ‌gold-out‌ ‌football‌ ‌game‌ ‌concluded‌ ‌the‌ ‌eventful‌ ‌Rally‌ ‌month‌ ‌and‌ ‌allowed‌ ‌the‌ ‌club‌ ‌ to‌ ‌collect‌ ‌one-fourth‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌total‌ ‌donations‌ ‌from‌ ‌classmates,‌ ‌teachers,‌ ‌and‌ ‌parents.‌ ‌The‌ ‌club‌ ‌ made‌ ‌more‌ ‌than‌ ‌expected‌ ‌and‌ ‌can‌ ‌not‌ ‌wait‌ ‌for‌ ‌next‌ ‌September‌ ‌so‌ ‌they‌ ‌can‌ ‌make‌ ‌even‌ ‌ more.‌ ‌“The‌ ‌Rally‌ ‌club‌ ‌raised‌ ‌more‌ ‌money‌ ‌than‌ ‌ever‌ ‌before.‌ ‌We‌ ‌had‌ ‌an‌ ‌amazing‌ ‌group‌ ‌of‌ ‌ members,‌ ‌who‌ ‌made‌ ‌it‌ ‌fun.‌ ‌We‌ ‌received‌ ‌donated‌ ‌decorations‌ ‌from‌ ‌Lost‌ ‌Mountain‌ ‌middle‌ ‌ school‌ ‌and‌ ‌we‌ ‌used‌ ‌those‌ ‌to‌ ‌decorate‌ ‌our‌ ‌rally‌ ‌stand‌ ‌and‌ ‌football‌ ‌players.‌ ‌It‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌very‌ ‌ great‌ ‌experience.‌ ‌We‌ ‌really‌ ‌did‌ ‌spread‌ ‌the‌ ‌word‌ ‌on‌ ‌Rally‌ ‌and‌ ‌we‌ ‌passed‌ ‌out‌ ‌stickers‌ ‌and‌ ‌ wristbands‌ ‌but‌ ‌most‌ ‌importantly‌ ‌we‌ ‌raised‌ ‌a‌ ‌big‌ ‌amount‌ ‌of‌ ‌donations‌ ‌which‌ ‌I‌ ‌know‌ ‌will‌ ‌ make‌ ‌an‌ ‌impact,”‌ ‌junior‌ ‌and‌ ‌Rally‌ ‌president‌ ‌Claire‌ ‌Scafidi‌ ‌said.‌

The 2019 NC Warrior football team prepares for their next game against the East Coweta Indians on September 20, with extra motivation. The entire month of September, dedicated to childhood cancer awareness, features a “Rally week”, raising student and staff awareness concerning this important matter. Students and the community are encouraged to participate in the “Gold Out” for the next home game this Friday. “The Gold out theme, is one of my favorite themes of the year. I also like how awareness is spread about childhood cancer,” sophomore Bobby Vandiver said.

Rally club meets for the first time this year on Wednesday, August 21. Ran by Dr. Pamela Roach and Ms. Becky Young, the club tries to help spread awareness and raise money to help scientists find a cure for childhood cancer. The club fundraises all throughout September, childhood cancer awareness month, to help find a cure.

From yellow posters to gold T-shirts, students showed their support for Rally Club, an organization that raises awareness for childhood cancer. “Rally is a club that donates money to not only raise awareness for childhood cancer, but also to raise money for the research,” senior Brittany Aguilar said. In the past, the club gradually declined, until recently when senior Cierra Walsh brought it back to life. As a foundation, Rally hopes to promote awareness for childhood cancer through fundraisers and overall support of the community, and through their determination, members will keep the club alive and prospering.
