The feeling of homemade and DIY
Jeremiah McKinney, Media Team
January 29, 2026
Handcrafted gifts carry weight through time, care and personal thought in every detail. Each piece reflects patience and creativity that store-bought items rarely match. The feeling tied to homemade presents centers on effort, connection and meaning that lasts far beyond the moment of exchange. Slips drawn from students across NC speak about their feelings and thoughts on homemade gifts.

About the Contributor
Jeremiah McKinney, Media
Jeremiah McKinney, a junior at NC, is a brand new recruit to the Media Team for The Chant! Jeremiah is always on the move; if he is not working, he is either exploring the outdoors or scouting for the perfect photo angle. He has a love for shopping and talking to his friends. For those looking for someone who can turn a casual conversation into a full adventure, Jeremiah is the guy to go to! He is always capturing moments through his camera lens, but when he is not snapping pictures or adding to his collection of clothes, he is found with the NC’s marching band, where he spends most of his time. He is just as passionate about music as he is about the people he loves. Jeremiah is always looking for fun, and he brings energy, creativity and a lot of personality to everything he does. He’s excited to bring that same vibe to The Chant this year!
