Addie Hill, Lead Page and Media Team Liaison

Advancing into her second year on The Chant, Addie Hill’s love for writing has only grown. Now serving as the Page Lead and Media Team Liaison, Hill hopes to expand her abilities as a writer, communicator and editor, all while still striving to reach her main goal for this year: worshiping Jesus. As co-leader of NC’s Collective Hope Bible Study Club and attendee of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Hill aims to spread God’s love through writing. Outside of reporting, Hill loves to dance, listen to indie-folk music, read, crochet, spend time with her family and friends, and attend church. 

She cannot wait to finish her final chapter at NC by reporting for the school’s publication, and she strives to write for a newspaper in college and beyond!

Senior linebacker Cooper Negron (54) committed to the Reinhardt University football program Wednesday, February 5. Throughout his time in three NC varsity sports, Negron has racked up successes in various fields. As he continues his career in the sport he loves, he remains excited for the friendship he will form and the feats he will achieve in the years ahead.

November 13, senior and attackman Zach Afalla (3) committed to play lacrosse at Hampton University in the Fall of 2025. Known around the field for his passion for the sport, Afalla has created a name for himself through the game of lacrosse — without the help of his recognizable hairstyle. As he progresses on towards collaborating with his new Division One teammates, the young athlete reflects fondly on his time with the brotherhood he created at NC.

Each year, the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) honors the highest-scoring student from each high school in Cobb County to celebrate his or her achievements on the SAT. February 4, PAGE hosted magnet senior Maksymilliam Bardwell along with other chosen students as the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) student of the 2024-2025 school year. Bardwell embodies the NC Warrior spirit and continues to inspire excellence in every facet of his life.

With camaraderie, teamwork and a Division Two (D2) lacrosse opportunity in his future, senior and NC varsity men’s lacrosse attackman Andrew LaPierre (15) faces an excitable future as he heads toward North Greenville University in the fall. As an offensive leader and beacon of light for his teammates on the field, LaPierre brings a certain finesse to the sport through his character and playing style. With college-level ball on his horizon, LaPierre can not wait to continue improving in the sport he has loved since childhood.

For six of NC’s premiere players, November 13 marked that special day. To promote holiday cheer and spread their love for Jesus, NC’s Collective Hope (CHC) Bible study club hosted a Christmas service project. Partnering with Operation Christmas Child, CHC packed shoeboxes with essential items that the organization will send to underprivileged children overseas. From providing hygiene products to writing Christmas cards, the club’s members hope to spread their love all the way from Kennesaw.

Each year, the NC Magnet Ambassador Program hosts a movie night with upperclassmen ambassadors and freshmen to promote friendship between grade levels. This year, the students watched “Inside Out 2” in the school’s film room, providing attendees a sweet and fun experience. The program hopes to create bonds between ambassadors and their freshmen, and the movie night achieved that goal with astounding success.

Premiering September 17, the fan-favorite show “Dancing with the Stars” returned for its 33rd season. The show’s current cast list dominated the internet as beloved bronze-medal Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik appeared as the first celebrity in the lineup. Nedoroscik and his partner, professional dancer Rylee Arnold, stole the show with their jive to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen.

In a celebration of seniors and overpowering of opponents, the NC Lady Warrior varsity volleyball team (23-10) defeated the Wheeler Wildcats (8-17) by a sweep. In a talented display of teamwork and camaraderie — along with skillful kills and blocks — the girls proved yet again their aptitude for the sport. Beginning the game with sentimental tears and bittersweet hugs, the NC Warriors emerged victorious.
