The past two years have brought turbulence into millions of lives around the globe, beyond a doubt. Trauma touched the lives of hundreds of teens, invoking the needed increase in mental health services across the nation. Fulton County, encompassing the city of Atlanta, has increased its education budget to 1.4 billion to accommodate for the changing times and increased demand. However, Cobb County and other counties of the metro Atlanta area continue to handle the situation in a pre-pandemic way, despite the almost identical dependent makeup.

If authorized by the FDA, Molnupiravir could exist as the first oral antiviral treatment for the COVID-19 virus. This drug will likely reduce the risk of hospitalization or death for patients with mild or severe cases of COVID-19. With the new medicine on the way, the world will hopefully make its way back to normality.

COVID-19 does not only affect human beings, contrary to popular belief. It can affect animals, varying from wild to even domestic pets. Most of the pets infected with the virus fully heal and do not even show any type of symptoms, to begin with. A mink, the first wild animal to catch COVID while the first pet to get COVID was a German Shepherd. COVID-19 has not only affected the pets physical health, but their mental health too, such as them becoming more anxious when separated from their owners and family.

After a brief celebration of the loss of masks from the May CDC guideline, each day Americans incorporate grabbing a mask and hand sanitizer before their daily commute as they conform to recent CDC regulations. With Cobb County becoming a hot-spot within the metro-Atlanta area, the need for protection along with the risk of infection increased ten-fold per individual.

The majority of students took part in virtual schooling during the 2020-21 school year, leading to a significant number of cafeteria employees resigning from their jobs. Due to lack of staff, all students dine in the main cafeteria, where overcrowding appears severely present, stressing out multiple NC parents and students alike, from the lack of social distancing to certain students’ testimonies of not finishing lunch.
