For several years, women have struggled to find new hairstyles for the next year, or their own, personal next era. Decades ago, society mutually agreed on matching haircuts and hairstyles to wear. The infamous bob hairstyle remains one of the best hairstyles for women to choose, and society should bring back the beauty of the bob.

Those who live with long hair struggle when figuring out which hairstyle would best suit them. To avoid the use of harsh products and heat on hair, people should reconsider the length of their hair, and rather consider chopping off a few inches that will make their life easier. The bob haircut stands as the perfect solution for those who struggle to manage their long hair.

Decades ago, women wore bobs to take on military roles. Due to the new wave of athleticism, women also chopped their hair to help them venture into more active roles while taking part in athletics. Women now feel empowered when wearing their hair short, establishing a new confident feeling after cutting their hair into a bob.

“I think that bobs are the most beneficial haircut. When you have a bob, your hair doesn’t get in your face, allowing you to be free of strands blocking your view from the beautiful world. Not to mention, bobs look insanely stylish and cute on everyone. Bobs need to make a comeback so that the world can be bright again,” junior Aubrey McPherson said.

Critics argue that bob haircuts benefit no one and do not look trendy or modern. Along with its stylish benefits, a bob also aids those with body temperature concerns. With summer coming up, everyone starts to worry about the heat they will endure. A bob haircut reduces body insulation, allowing a summer breeze to brush the shoulders of anyone maintaining their bob, and exemplifying the importance of them in hot seasons such as summer.

Maintaining a bob hairstyle also tends to flatter women’s faces. By exemplifying one’s cheekbones and jaw while bringing attention to the eyes, bobs show off women’s prime features. Long hair can elongate one’s face, making her head appear larger, while a bob focuses on complimenting a woman’s face and defining her overall face shape.

“I had a bob when I was seven years old. That was the best I’ve ever looked. I remember all my classmates would stop me in the halls to tell me my jaw looked sharper, and overall I looked better. Getting that bob was the best decision of my life. Now, longer hairstyles with a bunch of layers and bangs are in style, but I think my bob of 2014 will make a comeback for summer,” junior Zoe Williams said.

With the benefits it provides, the bob hairstyle serves multiple purposes and enhances lives every day. In order to rebuild the nation and promote unity, the bob must come back. Everyone should reinstate the bob before the beginning of summer break to allow themselves to experience the freeness of the bob.
