Juniors Bailey Rice and Ben Schick collected senior quotes today during B lunch. Yearbook encourages seniors to pick a quote that will accompany their photo in the yearbook. “After this Friday, seniors will not be able to change their quote in the yearbook,” senior editor Najda Sahovic said.

Due to the mid-semester stress that comes along as the end of the semester approaches, students tend to misplace items. These items are accounted as a lost cause and never searched for again. Admin encourages students to stop by the lost and found table located next to the attendance office to collect their lost items. At the end of the day anything that remains on the table will be taken to goodwill as a donation.

Today marked the end of the canned food drive hosted by Tribal Connections. Members collected cans from every classroom and placed them in the TC room following first period, where they were packaged in boxes and taped shut. Officials will announce the winning school on Saturday, November 4, at the Taste of Kennesaw.

Interact Club encourages NC students to donate hygiene items to the homeless, collecting donations through September 22nd in room 210. The club partnered up with MUST Ministries to provide necessary products to those in need. Several club member begin to bring in donations, filling several bags.

Herff Jones rallied up NC seniors in the new gym to discuss the importance and procedures of cap and gown ordering. The packages start at $68 for the basic cap and gown, but range all the way up to $300 for additional senior year accessories. The representative advised students to place their orders by September 14 instead of waiting until Friday to prevent the company from taking extended time to process orders.

Local grocery stores like Kroger, Walmart, and Publix carry fermented drinks, such as kombucha and kefir. These drinks target those who lack resources and time, but still want to include probiotics in their diet. Consumers may find that a different brand and flavor will have different levels of certain probiotics, reacting differently with an individuals digestive bacteria.

Patrick and Hughey prepare oatmeal using steel cut oats and items found in the classroom. Creating a decent dish requires a lot of forethought in the class and during competition. Regularly, students must create dishes from new and interesting ingredients, making them work even harder for amazing results. “[Anijah] and her partner had to formulate a plan and formulate a dish, and turned it into a Mexican street taco dish,” Hughey said.
