 As final exams approach, students configure various study habits to prepare and receive passing grades. NC’s bell schedule will alter December 15 and December 16; the last two days of the semester for efficient testing days. With the proper studying skills, a satisfying grade will come with ease.

Students spend the last days before finals studying for their upcoming tests. For those that struggled in their classes this semester, finals provide a final opportunity to boost their grade, so they hope to perform well. Failing or not, each student, remains anxious for finals to pass so they can enjoy the holiday break.

As the semester comes to a close, and the holiday season approaches, students display extreme excitement for the upcoming break. With students from all over the county studying at NC, winter break provides a great time for students to spend quality time with family and friends. “I can’t wait for Christmas and break. Finals are almost here too but other than that, I am so ready for time off,” Magnet sophomore Molly Clark said.

Coming back from the weekend, students arrived in the computer lab early in the morning, prepared to take their English EOC. All English EOCs take place during either first, third or fourth period, and students receive up to 90 minutes of time to complete their test. The end of course tests measure the student’s knowledge of everything they learned during the semester and usually accounts for a major portion of their grade.

Students who have a low A (90-94%) before taking the final could possibly end up with a B after the final. A single bad score on the final can bring down the student’s entire semester’s worth of hard work, which is why NC should allow their students who meet special requirements an opportunity to exempt finals.

Although productivity seems to dwindle around the end of the year, the atmosphere of a coffee shop always feels full of inspiration and motivation. Luckily, the Kennesaw-Marietta area offers multiple coffee shops for students to write their final essays and study for AP exams.
