The NC Lady Warriors’ varsity basketball team (5-5) took on Harrison’s Hoyas (2-6) November 10 at home in the Arena. With a packed student section and coming off of a win against the South Paulding Spartans (0-7), the girls played confidently. Unfortunately, minor mistakes led the Warriors to slip up and the Hoyas ended up winning in a tight and well-played game with a final score of 33-40.

Small forward Damonte Pellote (0), point guard Jalan Johnson (1), center Giovanni Harris (5)and center Evan Daniel (4) communicate and reflect on their flaws as their team overcomes the Harrison Hoyas’ (4-3) defense. The NC varsity boys basketball team’s (8-0) willpower helped their victory against Harrison with a score of 57-53. The Warriors remain undefeated, and players and spectators become thrilled about what the season holds for the Warriors.

After an unfortunate end to the 2021 season, the NC Warriors looked to bring additional star power to the coaching room as the offseason drags on. As soon as the news hit that former NFL legend Tom Brady retired, head coach Shane Queen called Brady’s management team and offered him a full-time position as NC’s quarterbacks coach. To the majority of fans surprise, the ex-New England Patriot accepted the offer and seemed ecstatic to work with rising senior quarterback Malachi Singleton.

Senior forward captain Alex Acosta (35) ran the court at NC’s first region game Tuesday right alongside junior forward Terrell Reeves (30). Acosta started off the 2021-22 season playing his 3rd and final varsity season with the NC Warriors as the lone senior on the team. Acosta motivates his team before games, getting them hyped in the locker room and preparing them to have fun and to stay positive when playing.
