“Divergent” by Veronica Roth received a film adaptation in 2014, three years after the book was published. The debate over the differences between the novel and the film may never settle due to the mixed opinions of what the movie adaptation needed to include but chose not to. In this episode of “Book Buddies,” the topic includes showcasing a handful of popular disagreements among fans concerning the “Divergent” film and movie, and addresses both sides.

Lidia Sidorova, a magnet junior at NC, is a Page Editor on The Chant. Her love for communication and research has not only driven her to the journalism program but also to the Speech and Debate team at NC, where she participates in meetings and tournaments. While maintaining her spot in the magnet program at NC, she participates in various activities as a magnet ambassador. Sidorova is active in her community and holds an internship at a local elementary school. If she is not working on her academics, Sidorova enjoys reading, playing guitar, and skateboarding. As she reaches her second-to-last year of her high school career, she hopes to share her passions, inspire her community, and educate those around her.
