Denise Thomas, Reporter

Denise Thomas is a senior and Magnet student at North Cobb. Born in Italy, she has five sisters and two brothers. Her entire family is very close and enjoys spending quality time together.

Thomas enjoys reading literature and writing in and out of class, especially after taking Mrs. Theaker’s AP English Language and Composition class in her junior year. She also spends her time marathoning television shows on Netflix, especially her new favorite The Office.

Thomas has a specific interest in studying human trafficking, which is the subject of her junior and senior year Advanced Scientific Research presentation. The interest stems from one of her brothers, who works for the FBI and specializes in stopping human trafficking.

Thomas’s leadership experience includes participating on the NC soccer team, as well as working as a receptionist at Carl Black for over a year.

Looking towards her future, Thomas plans to attend college and pursue a career in psychology. She has not figured out the specifics of her occupation yet. Over the summer, she visited California and made the decision to move there after she graduates.

Thomas has made a swath of friends at NC who value her as a reliable and trustworthy confidante.

“She's a really good person to go to when you're having a rough day and want someone to talk to because she's not a snake and knows how to keep stuff to herself but also helps you and gives good advice,”senior Nikita Ukhov said.

This is Thomas’ first year on staff at The Chant and she looks forward to honing her writing skills as a reporter. She is excited to finish her senior year at NC and take part in the many opportunities it will bring.
