The Chant

As prom creeps closer and closer, juniors and seniors frantically schedule last-minute appointments for their night to remember. Students make appointments for nails, hair, and makeup to ensure their pictures turn out as best as possible. T-minus three days until the Golden Gala!

Prom creeps up right around the corner as students make their final appointments and purchases for the memorable night this coming Saturday, March 23. Currently, the school sells tickets to students in the main cafeteria for $80. From choosing prom dresses, tuxes, matching shoes, and accessories, juniors and seniors anticipate one of the most memorable nights of their high school years.

Today in homeroom, juniors and seniors received ticket and parking information for this year’s prom, as well as the big reveal of this year’s theme: The Golden Gala. Upperclassmen look forward to this eventful night, which will last from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Event Center at Opera Atlanta.

During prom on April 21, students could take their picture in the photobooth with friends or a date. Students who took pictures at prom also received complimentary frames to put their photos in and keep forever. Students can continue to pick up these keepsakes during their lunch periods.

Tomorrow NC’s prom commences and the buzz around the school remains palpable! The entire schools seems on edge as late promposals and last minute reservations make there way to unexpecting victims. Before 3rd period, senior Christophe César asked Gabby Gonzalez to attend  the anticipated date for tomorrow. As seen with other promposals, a small crowd formed and the “awhs” from the crowd sounded and there nothing but smiles appeared on onlookers faces. NC’s prom themed the Enchanted Forest starts at 6 pm at Opera Nightclub in Atlanta.

Today, Thursday April 19 marks the last day to buy prom tickets. Students rush to gather the money before time runs out and they miss their chance to attend their magical night at prom. “I would say there have been more sales today than any other day, everyone is super last minute this year,” said Shatesha Mcwhorter, a volunteer helping sell prom tickets in the cafeteria.

Senior Alex Llamas asked Maya Hercey to prom via card trick, pulling a bouquet of flowers and a poster from behind her ear. “I knew he was going to ask me, but I didn’t know when and I didn’t know it was going to be like this. I loved it,” Hercey said.
