The movement, while starting its roots within the mid-90s Grunge Revolution, has morphed and collided with a myriad of counterculture phenomena; this includes the good, the bad and the devilishly ugly.

Since Henry Selick released the renowned “Coraline” movie in 2009, no other stop-motion horror came close to reaching its popularity. However, Selick and director Jordan Peele released a new, similar film called “Wendell and Wild”. Similarities include the topics of family, childhood trauma, symbolism and a multitude of other elements. Perhaps “Coraline” meets its match or maybe “Wendell and Wild” will fail to reach the bar that Coraline set 13 years ago.

Amnesty International, a club initiated and conducted by students, joins NC’s long list of clubs. Student leaders rose to the challenge of pioneering an organization, including magnet seniors Nancy Manasreh and Neeve Ram. The co-presidents encourage other students who want to start a club to strive for their goal, and reach out for help. “Don’t be afraid to ask for a sponsor. Teachers will definitely help, and as long as you’re passionate your idea will pull through,” Manasreh said.

After four years of waiting, those who adore Mitski’s unique brand of indie-pop received another full-length album. The album holds special significance for those who have closely followed Mitski. “Learning that she was close to quitting music after her last album, this album has a certain ache that the others dont, it feels new and like shes trying to find that love for music again,” Kennesaw State University student and NC alumni Arden Jaramillo said.

With the fame his EP enjoyed from Tik Tok, Strawberry Guy’s first album has been well received from fans so far. “I’m a huge fan of Mrs. Magic and I’ve loved what I’ve listened to so far. I’m a huge fan of integrating orchestral style music and instruments into other styles,” magnet junior Claire Scafidi said.

If authorized by the FDA, Molnupiravir could exist as the first oral antiviral treatment for the COVID-19 virus. This drug will likely reduce the risk of hospitalization or death for patients with mild or severe cases of COVID-19. With the new medicine on the way, the world will hopefully make its way back to normality.
