The NBA begins its return within the month and the eastern conference looks completely changed with several free agency moves and trades, the top three teams of the conference; the Milwaukee Bucks, defending champions Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers, look loaded and charged for another year of intense competition between one another.

As the war drags on, healthcare workers continue to risk their lives providing vital aid to those in desperate need and show the world that even in the face of immense danger and destruction, human compassion and empathy can endure.

Inspired by her friend Grade Amah, Tolbert joined the cross country team her freshman year and has since bloomed as a runner by increasing her endurance and speed. As she finishes out the 2026 season, Tobert hopes to leave a lasting impact on the NCXC team.

Shields joined the team her freshman year in hopes of increasing her stamina, and she has worked since to enhance her endurance and passion for running. Shields hopes to utilize the skills she has learned in her future as she progresses into her final year on the NC XC team.

Darwin Kamau finished his junior year and first two semesters on The Chant with a new appreciation for both staying and keeping others updated on current events. Looking into the future, Darwin sees a mountain of work and the ambition to accomplish it. Darwin plans to add more content to The Chant’s Student Life page, looking to capture moments that highlight the unity found within the NC population. Darwin hopes to exceed the standards set by his previous work and to collaborate with his classmates to produce only the best on The Chant.
