Students and teachers alike bought and took home new plant friends throughout the week to celebrate Greenhouse Gang’s annual Mothers Day plant sale. The senior courtyard served as the club’s selling site where flowery scents and lush plant pots covered each table. The Kennesaw community took a peek at the advertised sale and left with satisfaction in the form of green leaves and colorful petals.

A new ground-breaking discovery developed on campus by NC’s club, the Greenhouse Gang: the blossoming of a human. The club breaks away from the normally green leaves and floral scents, moving on to growing full-sized humans. The discovery brought excitement to the NC community and beyond, with numerous people surrounding the club’s greenhouse meeting ground. They plan to showcase their discovery to the public during their annual Mother’s Day plant sale.

This year’s new Greenhouse Gang brings a greater number of flora than last year, thanks to a variety of new plants arriving at the club. All the students love playing in the dirt and cannot wait to grow the newly introduced plants such as bonsai. The members enjoy learning how plants grow by seeing their progress blossom. “Everyone is invited to join us and bring something to the garden table. The more we know, the more we grow,” NC club sponsor Susan Aughey said.

The Greenhouse Gang’s plant sale ends tomorrow, May 7th at 2:00 p.m. Students, staff and family members may buy fresh plants with their families for preparation for Mothers day, as the plants make for a great Mother’s day gift.

Greenhouse Gang plant sale nears its end

The Greenhouse Gang will host a plant sale May 4 through May 7. On Wednesday through Friday, the shop will open from 3:30 p.m until 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. The sale will contain flowers, veggies, herbs, succulents amongst other plants. With prices ranging between $3-$10 each plant, certain plants stay in the pot while buyers can remove them and plant them in their yard. The Greenhouse accepts payments in the form of cash or checks addressed to NC Horticulture.

NC welcomes spring with the efforts of the greenhouse team. They have managed to install roughly 600 plants including tulips and daffodils around the school. The art class collaborated with the greenhouse team and made flower pots. The greenhouse gang plans on planting succulents and other plants in order to sell them at the Mothers Day plant sale. “We’re kind of under the radar and quiet, nobody sees us and then in the spring time all of our hard work shows. I love the help we’re receiving from the art classes, special ed and the little kids that come on campus that contribute to a colorful spring at North Cobb,” Greenhouse leader and teacher Susan Aughey said.
