Divine Idiku, a new member of The Chant, is a Junior at NC. She joined the Newspaper to experience the journalism field and see if she wants to pursue it in the future. Idiku enjoys writing her thoughts and feelings and hopes to improve it further in the future.

She enjoys watching anime and K-dramas during her free time. She has a passion for running and is part of the cross country team for NC. She is also part of the Beta club and loves contributing to her community. During this school year, Idiku hopes to improve her writing skills and explore the journalism field. She is still finding her path and what field she wishes to pursue in the future, but hopes she can decide this school year.

The mentally ill face numerous challenges in life; although several mental illnesses tie into criminal acts, not all do. The media, criminal justice system and health system tend to handle the mentally ill in a negative way. Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and antisocial disorder hold a high number of violent and sexual crimes. However, if treated properly, they hold a lower chance of committing such heinous crimes.

As the last member to release her own single and debut as a soloist from the group Blackpink, fans held high hopes and anticipations for Jisoo’s album. She debuted a year and a half later after the popular songs “Lalisa” and “Money” released by her fellow member Lisa, and fans’ expectations soared beyond her reach. Unfortunately, “ME,” dropped March 31, 2023, disappointed. She has, however, released an album that fits her image and distinct voice.

Ronke Owolabi always ensures her clients receive the quality service they pay for and she treats her clients with respect. She enjoys watching her clients leave with smiles on their faces and listening to her clients rants about life while braiding their hair, and honors the appointments made by their clients.

People tend to set or work on their New Year goals or resolutions with the wrong approach. Either by setting up broad unattainable goals or not making a plan on how they will reach their goal, people can inadvertently set up their new year to nearly flop. People also tend to set numerous goals, which also leads to overwhelming themselves and giving up, as they should choose a specific goal to stick to. They also need to set their goals on a miniature scale, and break it up into tiny goals, in order to not become overwhelmed.

 As of last month, employment grew by 263,000 and the inflation rate has decreased, currently standing at 8.3%. Wages grew by 0.3%, which helps fight inflation and help the economy stabilize. Numerous forms of job sectors hired a huge number of workers, especially healthcare and social assistance which consistently need workers.
