From weightlifting to camps, the team trained physically and mentally to return as a strong team. Their commitment and dedication during the off-season fostered excitement and courage throughout the team, which will show this Friday at the Emory Sewell Stadium against Westlake High School.

The NC varsity football team (8-2, 5-0) closes off the regular season with a win against the Osborne Cardinals (5-5, 0-5) Friday, November 4 at the Emory Sewell Stadium. The team now prepares to take on the first round of playoffs Saturday, November 12 to play the Denmark Danes (6-4, 2-3). With a perfect region score for the Warriors, students and fans anticipate the results of the playoff season.

After an unfortunate end to the 2021 season, the NC Warriors looked to bring additional star power to the coaching room as the offseason drags on. As soon as the news hit that former NFL legend Tom Brady retired, head coach Shane Queen called Brady’s management team and offered him a full-time position as NC’s quarterbacks coach. To the majority of fans surprise, the ex-New England Patriot accepted the offer and seemed ecstatic to work with rising senior quarterback Malachi Singleton.

Hitting the 1000 pound milestone stands as a huge milestone for football players in their physical conditioning journey. Being strong and in shape can determine the outcomes of hard-fought games, and remains something the fans do not see. For NC, the road ahead lies challenging, with such a tough 2022 schedule. If players do not possess the strength to compete every Friday night or even become injured, then the team could face serious problems. NC lies in great hands with offensive line and strength training coach Robert Ingram leading the way.

With eight consecutive wins and an average of 40.2 points per game, NC looks to increase this total against North Paulding next week. As more and more attention surrounds the NC football program, head coach Shane Queen hopes to maintain the focus of one common goal: a state title.

The Warriors entered Friday night with a 6-1 record, while the Hawks arrived with a 1-6 record. The Warriors dominated the 3AAAAAAAA region a year prior and so far earned a 3-0 start to 2021 region play. NC will travel to an away game on October 29 against the Marietta Blue Devils, come out and support our Warriors.

The Friday night football game included multiple events, including Rally’s fundraiser for childhood cancer night and NC’s annual Sports Hall of Fame night. An aura of precedence filled the sidelines and field alike. Like decades of alumni before, the Warriors played against an opponent that defeated them the previous season, North Gwinett’s Bulldogs. At no other point (excluding the final quarter) could spectators predict the outcome of the game as the match seesawed back and forth. Regardless, the final score resulted in a 40-19.

The NC Warriors ventured into their third regular-season game with hopes for a quality win. Led by team captains (pictured left to right) Josh Jospehs, Joshua Bagley, Latrell Bullard, and Malachi Singleton, the Warriors dominated the Alpharetta Raiders by a score of 43-7. With 322 passing yards, Singleton and the offensive unit put up a frenzy of touchdowns that proved NC as a dominant force in this year’s 7A class. The Warriors return on Friday, September 17. To take on the Etowah Eagles in a Cobb-Cherokee matchup.

Following a 59-16 scrimmage win over the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets, the NC Warriors ventured into their first regular season game. Despite taking a 14-0 lead at halftime, the Warriors ultimately fell to the Buford Wolves, 35-27. With impressive performances from quarterback Malachi Singleton, wide receiver Reggie Givhan, and defensive specialist Marquis Grove-Killebrew. Although an undesired outcome, the top-ranked Warriors plan to go back to the drawing boards for next week’s outing versus the Milton Eagles.

The quarterback achieved an impressive #15 ranking in the state of Georgia and will continue to grow in his next two years at NC.
