With shopping centers and amusement parks opening back up, people obtain countless options of what they can do this summer. Check out these four items to add to the summer 2022 bucket list.

Face masks did not first appear during the COVID-19 pandemic. The usage of masks occurs for over three centuries. With the help of time, society learns what works and what does not work through trial and error and from scientists who came before them. The world must give thanks to the first doctors for creating what everyday citizens would use in times of illness.

The past two years have brought turbulence into millions of lives around the globe, beyond a doubt. Trauma touched the lives of hundreds of teens, invoking the needed increase in mental health services across the nation. Fulton County, encompassing the city of Atlanta, has increased its education budget to 1.4 billion to accommodate for the changing times and increased demand. However, Cobb County and other counties of the metro Atlanta area continue to handle the situation in a pre-pandemic way, despite the almost identical dependent makeup.

Enthusiasm and applause filled Harrison High Schools Performing Arts Center on Saturday as the home of the Hoyas hosted the annual One-Act competition. Saturday’s competition allowed actors and actresses from five different local schools to bond over a common love of theatre. “My first One-act was so memorable because of how much fun we had. I loved being with my friends and watching amazing shows, as well as getting on stage and doing what we love. One-Act was so much fun and something I will never forget,” sophomore Savannah Tighe said.

The United States finds itself in a polarized position as the debate centering around COVID-19 vaccine mandates rages on. “I think there needs to be an open dialogue about what is going to be best for education including taking into account vaccinated or unvaccinated people. This shouldn’t create division. It should just be freedom of medical choice,” NC art teacher Karrie Arana said.
