Across the nation, adolescents face a toxic relationship, and by knowing how dangerous these situations can become will help reduce the long-lasting effects of them. A Safe Place, a club created by junior Jessica Campos, will begin Fall semester of 2019 in hopes of growing support and awareness for abusive relationships and mental illness.

Sophomores Lillian Southall and Walker Goodsite celebrate Valentine’s Day by spending quality time with one another. “I think Valentine’s Day is special because it’s the one day per year just based around love for your significant other and the day you mostly realize how lucky you are to be with someone, like Lillian, who is there for you and will be by your side every day. Mock weddings at North Cobb continued as a tradition through 1996 allowing students to experience a glimpse of such an eventful day. Students and staff at the time seemed to enjoy the ceremony, but NC warriors today think otherwise. “A mock wedding would feel like im getting married to a friend or a classmate so although we’re in high school there is no real connection. A real wedding should be with someone who means the most to you, it’s a time meant to be spent with family and friends, most of all the person you love” junior Chris Maclellan said.

On Sunday, October 28th, magnet students received the opportunity to attend the Day of the Dead festival at the Atlanta History Center. At the museum, children dress in traditional Mexican outfits and paint their faces with “sugar skull” design for a pageant. “I really enjoyed the festival because we got a taste of a culture that is very prominent in our society,” sophomore Abbey Corley said.
