Moran, a reliable asset of the Warrior special teams, found himself in the kicking spot multiple times due to the six touchdowns of the Warriors. “Our kids responded [to the rough start of the game]. We don’t like to play from behind, but it’s a learning experience,” said Head Coach Shane Queen.

The NC Warriors faced off against the Hillgrove Hawks for their senior night on Thursday, April 18. The Hawks, ranked #1 in the state, proved no competition for NC with the Warriors beating them 12-8. The highlight of the game, where senior Jonathan Young hit a grand slam and tied the game, displayed the Warriors’ skill and determination going into playoffs.

Junior Tanner Corbett wore his Tom Brady sports jersey to celebrate the New England Patriots’ win during Sunday’s Super Bowl LIII. The Patriots won against the Los Angeles Rams 13-3. “I knew from the beginning the Patriots were going to win, however, I was surprised about how well the defense was played from both teams,” Corbett said.

NC’s Lady Warriors defeated Wheeler’s Wildcats at their 1st State Game on Saturday, Oct. 20. Warriors finished their fall season moving into state games and walked off the court with another immense win. Lady Warriors won their 1st state game to move on to their 2nd state game, known as the “Sweet 16.” “I was so proud of the team; they really fought for the win. In each set, I think we put in immense effort. I’m sad about the season ending, but I’m proud about the way that it ended. We really did our best in that game, and I’m really gonna miss my team. I couldn’t ask for a better family,” sophomore Tristan Ash said.

Before the break, the Warriors took on the Pebblebrook Falcons in their fifth game of the season. NC defensive end Thurman Geathers (#9) and offensive linebacker Trey Urquhart (#1) tackle Pebblebrook quarterback Jaquavious Jones (#1) before he can rush five yards. The team expected an easy win, as senior linebacker Christophe Cesar said, “We’ve beat them every year I’ve been on the team, so I don’t know why it would change now.”
