Peyton Stack, Co-Copy Editor
Peyton Stack, a senior in the Magnet Program at NC, joined the newspaper staff to explore the career option of sports journalism. He is a varsity athlete for the NC tennis team, which reached the 2018-2019 State finals for 7A, and featured him as the 2019 doubles player of the year. Aside from being on the tennis court, he exudes a strong passion for music. There is not a day you won’t catch him strolling down the halls of NC without his favorite jams and his AirPods. His favorite artists span multiple genres, such as Frank Ocean, Mac Miller, Healy, Stevie Wonder… and the list goes on. Not only does he listen to music, but he also loves to produce, record, and create music in his spare time. Along with his title as copy editor of the Chant, Stack holds the position of sideline reporter for the NC Warrior football radio network. He also participates in the UGA Heroes chapter at NC.
Often seen with friends and family, he takes great pride in his faith and loves to spread positivity wherever he can. A typical weekend includes hours of tennis, spontaneous hikes, and of course church on Sundays. His involvement in local Must Ministry drives, work for homeless shelters, and teaching at tennis camps have all affected his outlook on the world.
By the end of high school, he hopes to earn a scholarship to play college tennis and major in sports or music marketing. His dream school is the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and he hopes to one day move to Oregon. He looks forward to providing his outlook and perspectives on a multitude of topics for the viewers of The Chant.
